OUR MISSION

At Project One Eleven Dance Center, we strive for creating a safe space to fully express one’s true self. We hope to create an atmosphere unlike any other, with teachers who have experienced dance in the professional world and can guide your future dancer to accomplish that same success. At Project One Eleven, you will be submersed in an accepting atmosphere that feels like a family. We bring community to not only our students but YOU, the family members of our students. We will involve you in every step of your child’s experiences and growth. Ultimately, this is the space for optimum self-expression, diversity, community, and understanding of the beautiful art form of dance from notable instructors.

OUR ROOTS

Proudly Continuing the legacy of Steps On Stage Academy of Performing Arts

Before becoming Project One Eleven Dance Center, this studio was lovingly known as Steps on Stage Academy of Performing Arts — a place that has always been more than just a dance studio.

Steps on Stage was built with heart by its founder, Cheri Crabtree, whose passion, dedication, and love for dancers created something truly special. From the very beginning, this studio was a second home — a place where dancers were known, supported, encouraged, and surrounded by a built-in family. We are deeply grateful to Cheri for laying such a strong, meaningful foundation and for creating a space where so many dancers grew not only in their training, but as people.

That legacy was thoughtfully carried forward by our second owner, Kris Vanderbeek, who continued to nurture the heart of the studio while guiding it through years of growth and transition. We are sincerely thankful for Kris’s leadership, care, and commitment to preserving the sense of family that has always defined this space.

Project One Eleven was born from that legacy — not to replace it, but to protect it and carry it forward with intention. While our name and vision reflect a new chapter, the most important promise remains the same: this studio will always be a family first.

Above all else, Project One Eleven is committed to being a dancer’s safe place — a true home away from home. A place where dancers feel seen, supported, challenged, and celebrated. Where relationships matter, growth is nurtured, and every dancer knows they belong.

We are honored to step into this next chapter with gratitude for the past, respect for those who came before us, and excitement for what lies ahead. This is a continuation of something beautiful — and we are proud to carry it forward.
