DRESS CODE
At Project One Eleven Dance Center, our dress code is designed to support confidence, focus, and safe movement in the classroom. A consistent dress code helps dancers feel prepared, comfortable, and united—allowing teachers to properly assess technique while creating a professional, respectful learning environment.
General Guidelines

For all classes, hair should be securely tied away from the face, ideally in a neat bun or ponytail. This
applies to all levels, including preschool classes. -
Appropriate dance attire is required - Movable Athletic Apparel or Project One Eleven Merchandise.

No outside clothing - such as jeans, blouses or dresses.

Warm Ups - Hoodies, sweatshirts and sweat pants - Must be removed after "warm up" or when directed by instructor

No large jewelry hanging down or off. This is to prevent accessories from snagging on clothing, injuring your student or others in the class, or losing accessories

Dance shoes should never be worn outside of the studio. This is to keep the marley floors in the studios clean.
JAZZY FLIPPIES

Leotard or fitted dance top

Shorts, leggings, or jazz pants (no skirts or tutus for acro)

Bare feet or jazz shoes (teacher will advise based on class focus)

Hair pulled back securely away from the face (ponytail or bun recommended)
TAPPY TUTUS

Leotard or fitted dance top

Skirt or tutu

Pink or Skin-Colored tights (optional)

Tap shoes

Ballet shoes

Hair neatly pulled back (ponytail or bun recommended)
BALLET

OPTION 1 – Are required to wear Flesh Tone or Pink Ballet Tights, Flesh Tone or Pink Ballet Shoes, a leotard of their choosing, and hair in a bun.

OPTION 2 – White T-Shirt, Black Pants, Shorts, or Tights, Black Ballet Shoes

Ballet shoes must be canvas, no leather shoes.

Underwear should not be worn under a leotard and tights.

Students may wear skirts over their leotards

At all levels, hair should be pulled back into a neat bun for class. If hair is too short, another style may be used to keep hair out of the face.

Our ballet dress code is strongly enforced.
JAZZ

Leotard or tight fitting dance top of your choosing

Athletic shorts or leggings

jazz shoes - can be any color (nude or black)
LYRICAL

Leotard or tight fitting dance top of your choosing

Canvas lyrical shoes, Foot Undies or Paws
CONTEMPORARY

Fitted or loose-fitting dance tops that allow for full range of motion

Leggings, dance pants, or shorts (no jeans or restrictive fabrics)

Bare feet, socks, or foot undies (as directed by instructor)

Hair secured away from the face

Dancers are encouraged to choose attire that makes them feel confident and expressive while still allowing teachers to clearly see alignment and movement quality.
TAP

Tap Shoes Required - any color

Fitted or loose-fitting dance tops that allow for full range of motion

Leggings, dance pants, or shorts (no jeans or restrictive fabrics)

ACROBATICS

Bare feet

Leotard or tight fitting dance top of your choosing

Tight fitting shorts or leggings

HIP-HOP

Fitted or loose-fitting dance tops that allow for full range of motion

Leggings, dance pants, or shorts (no jeans or restrictive fabrics)

Any kind of sneaker with a clean outside sole. Dance shoes should not be worn outside, including sneakers for hip-hop

COMPANY CHOREOGRAPHY CLASSES | REHEARSALS
